Nifty Viscolor

Nifty Viscolor creates Winamp's viscolor.txt. NV can create the colors for either the spectrum analyzer or oscilloscope (the thingy that looks like a ocean wave). With NV you can choose from preset color schemes or use your own custom schemes. The finished spectrum analyzer or oscilloscope colors will smoothly blend into each other.

Nifty Viscolor Help

• Select the spectrum analyzer or oscilloscope portion of viscolor.txt.
• Choose one of the 4 (I plan to add more) presets or make your own color scheme. Custom color schemes are simply any number of 6-digit hexadecimal triplet (i.e. ffcc66) colors delimited by the pipe ("|") symbol.
• Press "Make" and you'll have text ready to copy and paste into your own viscolor.txt.
• Press "Preview" to see an approximation of how your new spectrum analyzer or oscilloscope will look.

Viscolor.txt contains the various colors that appear in the visualization area of Winamp. Viscolor.txt consists of 24 rows of comma-delimited color data in the r, g, b format (i.e. 255, 0, 255 represents a bright purple).

Below is a sample viscolor.txt (taken from Winamp's base skin), followed by a brief explanation of what each row represents.

• Row 0 is the background color (you cannot use an image) of the visualization area.
• Row 1 is the color of the dots in the visualization area.
• Rows 2 to 17 are the colors within the spectrum analyzer. These colors can be produced by Nifty Viscolor.
• Rows 18 to 22 are the colors within the oscilloscope. These colors can also produced by Nifty Viscolor
• Row 24 marks the last peak value within the spectrum analyzer.
• Note: I do not know why there are commas after the blue component of each color. Everything seems to work a-ok without those commas.
